The principle mission at NorthCountry Manor is to provide a safe and dependable environment where residents and their families will find comfort and individualized care. Our goal is to minimize, or possibly remove, resident and family stress by providing the required assistance they may need on any given day while still promoting independence. We achieve this through regular staff communication as well as communicating with residents and their families.
History: In spring of 2008 Annamarie Sloss, a registered nurse along with her husband Dr. David Brody purchased the old Bellows mansion across the street from the Littleton High School. The home, which can accommodate up to 9 residents and is licensed by the State of NH, is an assisted living alternative for senior citizens who want to maintain an independent life and are looking for a more home-like setting. Right in the heart of Littleton, this elegant home is a reminder of gracious living from times past.
Ms. Sloss, who once operated an assisted living home in southern Vermont, had been looking for a way to combine her many years of experience in nursing with an interest in wellness and aging. A vacation on the Maine coast in November 2007 triggered her new venture. “The inn we stayed at reminded me of my previous care home, and I decided then and there to do something. After we got back, the first house we looked at was perfect and within a few months, we bought the residence and started renovations. We have found Littleton to be a warm and welcoming community and we are delighted to be here.”
